THE VICTORY
Scripture Reading - 1 John 5:1-4
1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. KJV
Notice that these verses plead with all mankind as a whole but they also are speaking to each one of us personally. However each and every Christian has a special blessing revealed in these verses: 1st of all we are Born of God. This means we are born of His Holy Spirit. We have the same Spirit that God has, only in a lesser measure. Since we are Born of God it is obvious that we are a part of God’s family. Yes, real members of the Divine Family of God living on the earth today heading toward a brighter future tomorrow. 2ndly we do show our love for God by our obedience to His Word. Your ability to do God’s Word demonstrates your sincere love for God. This is not a great mystery because we are all following the same road map. Since the Holy Bible is our only guide we can easily tell if someone has gotten off track. If we stay on the straight and narrow path of love doing God’s Word we can also notice who is off the path. This observation is not for judgement but rather to see if those on the side of the road may need a helping hand. 3rd This common Christian faith in God’s Son Jesus Christ is the victory that overcomes this world’s system of thinking. Simply put our faith in God is what causes us to rise up over the deception and hopelessness of those entangled with the world system. We are Christians because we firmly believe in Jesus as Lord and for that reason His righteous Blood cleanses us from the full penalty of sin, which is eternal separation from God. Since our mind is renewed by the Word of God all the deceitful traps of wickedness in the earth are recognized and avoided giving us total victory in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
